November 2011	CC&R Amendment Vote On September 22, 2011, the Board of Directors received a petition signed by 45 members of the Association, representing 5% of the Membership. The petition requests a special membership meeting for the purpose of amending the CC&Rs to prohibit leases for less than 30 days. THE BOARD IS NEUTRAL about this proposed rental restriction, but is required by law to schedule a special membership meeting and put this issue to vote. Accordingly, a special membership meeting is scheduled as follows: Date, Time, Location: Saturday, December 17, 2011 at 9 am at the OSCA Clubhouse, located at 2727 Turkey Cove Road By this time you should have received a packet with the cover letter, agenda, and all balloting information.

May 18, 2011	Mission San Antonio de Padua Annual Fiesta Sunday, June 12, 2011 from 12:00p to 4:00p Mission San Antonio de Padua is the third of the 21 California Missions. It is located in Monterey County at Fort Hunter Liggett, CA (in Jolon) The Mission is holding its annual Fiesta fundraiser on June 12th from noon to 4 p.m. There will be a traditional oak fired BBQ ($12) with a choice of Top Sirloin or Chicken (includes salad, beans and rolls). April 2011	High Water Cautions Lake Nacimiento is currently at 100%! Here are some friendly reminders that will help you prepare for your trip to Oak Shores: 1.) Both the Main Marina and West launch ramps are under water. Launching is off of the street. Please be cautious and considerate of other boaters; one watercraft at a time will be allowed to launch, so please be patient. 2.) The Main Marina parking lot is under water at this time. The only parking at the Main Marina is behind the clubhouse. Parking is very limited at the West Ramp also. 3.) If the Main Marina "owners" parking lot is still covered on Memorial weekend, the "Guest" parking lot, will be open for everyone to use. In the case that we still have high water, that parking lot will be for vehicles only! All watercraft trailers will have to be transported back to your home or to a designated greenbelt. HAPPY BOATING!!

June 2, 2008	Memorial Weekend Activities Summary Our 2nd Annual Golf Tournament was enjoyed by many. Big thanks to Dan and Mary Jo Del Campo for organizing this event. Also, thank you to Alex Ferrel for sponsoring the Award Plaques for all the winners and to JM Construction and Dan and Mary Jo Del Campo for sponsoring the drinks. This event raised $413.00. Our Saturday Night BBQ was enjoyed by approx. 110 people. Thank you to our Head Barbequer Jim Money for top sirloin, chicken and for his beans also! April 30, 2008	The Pool is open since April 19 with the new shade cover/deck. Come and check it out along with all the road and parking lot resurfacing and curbing.
April 12, 2008	The new deck and shade cover at the pool are almost complete. The pool will open with a brief ceremony on Saturday April 19 after the Board Meeting. Come see the new retaining wall and sidewalk along Turkey Cove, the new deck and shade cover and the new pool furniture. With the newly paved marina parking areas Oak Shores is looking SHARP!!!
April 12, 2008	Granite has finished the paving of Lakeview, Shoreline, Pine Ridge, and Upper Captains Walk. It has been quite an operation to watch with all the heavy equipment and manpower. They have done a great job. On Monday they will return to begin installing 18,000 feet of curbing in all these areas and the following week they will do the finishing touches. The project will be completed by Friday April 25. Residents will be pleased at the dramatic improvement.

Feb 8, 2008	Save the Date - Monterey County Water Resources Dept. will be making a presentation about their dam construction plans at Lake Nacimiento on February 26th at 6:30 p.m. at the Oak Shores Clubhouse.
Feb 1, 2008	With all the rain the lake has risen about 25 feet to 760 ft. The ground is saturated and we are expecting more rain in the days ahead. It looks like another good boating year on the lake. Monterrey County is expected to limit the lake level to 770 ft (just below our lower parking lot) in order to enable construction on the spillway beginning in April at the end of the rainy season. A lot will depend on the 2008 release schedule.
Jan 19, 2008	One of the important issues discussed at today's Board Meeting was the urgency to acquire approximately 150 more ballots in order to make the CC&R election valid and avoid the expense of a required third election. Our current CC&Rs are out of compliance with current law and must be updated. After an extensive two-year community process they have been updated. All issues of dispute have been resolved and there is no identified opposition. However, 75% of the total Membership must approve the updated CC&Rs. That's about 600 votes. After about two months of voting we have about 460 ballots collected, not enough for a valid election. Today, the Board extended the vote again until the February 16 Board Meeting. If a new election is required it will cost all of us as an Association several thousand dollars in mailing and legal costs and potentially require a dues increase to cover the cost. We can avoid this expense only if those Members who have not voted do so. Please Call the office at 805-472-2233 for another ballot and then PLEASE VOTE.
